Thank you for sending your child with a healthy snack this week…they needed it!  ISTEP is over…YAHOOOOOOO!

 

Look for information to come home next week regarding Camp Tecumseh.  We are organizing and excited about our trip!  We hope you are preparing your wee-one for a fun adventure!

 

Picture Day is Friday, October 3rd – Smile pretty!  J

 

 TESTS DATES:

 

Friday – Language Arts Tests and Math quiz

 

Notice – No Religion quiz this week.  We are in a review unit.

 

 

NEW LEARNING:

 

Reading - Our Story this week is entitled, "Mighty Jackie".  We will be working on author’s purpose, fluency, and purpose maps. 

 

English – We will be learning about common and proper nouns.

 

Spelling - Our words this week are words with tch and ch. 

 

Writing – We are going to work on a descriptive writing piece. 

 

Math - We will begin our chapter on place value.

 

Social Studies – We are leaning about the hydrosphere and biosphere in our wonderful State of Indiana.

 

Science -   We will learn about organisms that lived in the past and compare and contrast organisms of today. 

 

Religion - The students will review Unit 1 and work on The Lord’s Prayer activity packet. 

 

Thoughts of the Week

 

Children have never been good at listening to elders, but they have never failed to imitate them.

 

When a mother calls a child by his/her entire name it means trouble.

 

There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children.  One of these is roots.  The other, wings.
