the book.
The link above is updated periodically but there is always a list of the latest tests on the bulletin board in the library. Welcome to a new school year. I was waiting for hundreds of new Accelerated Reader tests to upload before updating my web page. The Scholastic Book Fair is fast approaching. Flyers will be sent home but there are so many more items that are not listed on the flyer. One popular item will be the first "The 13 Clues" book by Rick Riordan.
LIBRARY INFO
All students come to the library at a regularly scheduled time. Middle school students are also allowed to come whenever they have free time and they have their teacher's permission.
Books are checked out for a one-week period. All grades may check out two books at a time.
If a student forgets any of his/her books when they are due, they are allowed to check out only one book that day. I allow a one-week grace period before the book is considered overdue and a fine accumulates. The fine is five cents per school day per book. Students will receive a notice that they have a late book. A late book or overdue book may be returned any time and not only on the student's specified library day. If after that one-week grace period that book is not returned, the student is not allowed to check out any books. For example, a student checks out a book on Tuesday, August 19. It is due Tuesday, August 26. They have until Tuesday, September 2 to return the book and not have a fine. If they return the book on Wednesday, September 3, a fine of five cents will be charged. I send notices of late books, overdue books and fines. If I have to send a middle school student more than three reminders for a fine, then the fourth week the fine is doubled and continues doubling each week until paid.
If a book is lost, a replacement price (which is listed on the overdue notice) will be charged. If after paying for the book it is found and returned during the school year, the money will be refunded less any fine that may have accumulated.
BIRTHDAY BOOK DONATIONS
I also have a Birthday Book program. For a $10 donation, a student may pick out a new book. A certificate with their name will be put in the front of the book. They will also be the first to check out the book and for the younger students, the book will be read to their class.
A special thanks to all who
volunteer in the library and for the donations to the library
