MON. JULY 18 INDIANAPOLIS This afternoon meet at Indianapolis International Airport for overnight intercontinental flight to Ireland.

TUES. JULY 19 DUBLIN Early morning arrival in Dublin, capital of Ireland. Your private motorcoach and driver/guide will be waiting. Mass at the airport or in Dublin. A morning city tour will introduce you to this capital city with its many historic buildings, delightful gardens and lively shopping streets including Trinity College where the illuminated manuscript, The Book of Kells, is kept. This afternoon check into your first class hotel. Dinner include tonight. D

WED. JULY 20 DUBLIN Morning Mass. Free time is provided for excellent shopping along Grafton, Nassau and Dawson as well as O'Connell and Henry Streets.

This afternoon enjoy an excursion south of Dublin to Glendalough, an important monastic settlement, founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century, which became a very important center of learning in Europe. B

THU. JULY 21 DOWNPATRICK I BANGOR I ARMAGH This morning a short drive to Mellifont Abbey, near Drogheda in County Louth. Founded by St. Malachy in 1142, It was the first Cistercian monastery in Ireland. It marked an introduction of the European monastic way of life. Its most unusual and distinctive feature is the octagonal Lavabo (c. 1200.)

Enter Northern Ireland and continue on to Downpatrick and arrive at noon. Visit St. Patrick's grave, have Mass at St. Malachy Church and visit Down Cathedral. Enjoy an interesting lecture by the resident docent on the Iife and work of St. Patrick as well as St. Malachy.

Drive along the ocean via Strangford Lough (where St. Patrick entered the country) to Bangor situated on the sea (North Channel) near Scotland. St. Malachy was chosen Abbot of Bangor in 1123. A year later he was consecrated Bishop of Connor but continued to reside at Bangor. He introduced stone building in his church (learned from a trip to the Continent) and some ruins of wall beside Abbey Street many have been part of his great work.

Continue to Armagh, the ecclesiastical capital of Ireland where in the 5th century St. Patrick built the first of his two churches. After dinner (included) have a walking tour. BD

FRl. JULY 22 ARMAGH I SLIGO Morning Mass at St. Malachy Church. Visit Armagh Cathedral where St. Malachy was Archbishop in 1132 to 1138, followed by a tour of the Cathedral. See the ruins of the Franciscan Friary and other St. Malachy sites organized by the Diocese of Armagh.

This afternoon travel back into the Irish Republic to Sligo, on the Atlantic coast and the largest town in the northwest of Ireland. County Sligo's beautiful scenery inspired many of the great writings of W. B. Yeats and he is buried in north Sligo at the bottom of Benbulben, Sligo's most famous mountain. Dinner included tonight. SAT.JULY23 SLIGO/KNOCK/KYLEMORE ABBEY/GALWAY After breakfast, drive a few hours to Knock Shrine where on August 21, 1879 the Blessed Virgin appeared to some 15 people. The shrine attracts pilgrims from all over the world. Have Mass in the Knock Church of the Apparition.

This afternoon drive through Connemara area of Ireland to Kylemore Abbey for a short visit. Visit the beautiful 19th century neo-Gothic mansion which is the monastic home to the Benedictine Nuns and a renowned international girls' boarding school run by the Benedictine Nuns. Located in the heart of the Connemara Mountains, it is the only Irish Abbey for Nuns of the Order of St. Benedict.

Continue to Galway, beautifully situated on Galway Bay for the night. Dinner at hotel. BD

SUN.JULY24 GALWAY Early morning Mass.

Opportunity to visit the Aran Islands by ferry for the day (Optional excursion $49 per person.) Or have a day of shopping for hand-knit woolens and other Irish souvenirs. B

MON.JULY 25- GALWAY / CLIFFS OF MOHER / KILLARNEY Early morning Mass before we travel to the Cliffs of Moher, rising approximately 700 feet above the Atlantic. Pass many small farms lined with picturesque stonewalls. Stop in Bunratty at noon.

Continue via Adare with its grass-roofed houses to Killarney for three nights. B

TUES.JULY 26-BLARNEY / KILLARNEY Morning Mass in St. Mary's Church.

Afternoon to Blarney Castle one of Ireland's oldest and most historic castles vith walls 18 feet deep and of course, the legend of the Blarney Stone embedded in the Battlements. Visit the Blarney Woolen Mills for last minute shopping. Return to Killarney for the night. B

WED. JULY 27 -.DINGLE PENINSULA / KILLARNEY Morning Mass at St. Mary's Church. Today we visit the Dingle Peninsula. Drive via Killorglin to the most westerly point in Europe. We journey along the scenic road to enjoy spectacular views of the rugged mountains, craggy lifts, long sandy beaches of the Atlantic coastline and quaint fishing villages. New vistas come in to our view at every turn in the road. Travel through Slea Head where you can see the Blasket Islands off the coast and the Iveragh Peninsula to the south.

Visit Gallarus Oratory, Co. Kerry, which is an excellent example of an early Christian church. This tiny building shaped like an inverted ship was rected in the 6th century using corbel vaulting and no mortar. It is watertight to this day. Stop in the town of Dingle before returning along the Peninsula to Killarney via the town of Tralee.

THU.JULY 28-KILLARNEY/SHANNON/HOME This morning drive to Shannon Airport for your return flight back to the U.S. Customs Service

A lunch and snack are provided on the flight. Pass through U.S. Customs in Shannon. Arrive in Indianapolis in late afternoon after a change in planes on the east coast.
