QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION
- In the first
reading the Apostles get into trouble for what they are teaching, how do
you think you would feel if you had to go to jail because of what you
believed?
- In what way
has God set you free to honor him more fully?
- How do you
explain why God sometimes delivers you out of hardships, but at other
times he allows you to go through them?
- The second
reading from Revelations is a reading of praise for Jesus who gave His
life for us; do you think that we sing God’s praises enough? How can we praise God better?
- Why do you
think Peter and the others went back to their fishing nets after the
Resurrection? What would you
have done?
- When you are
really upset or disappointed where do you go, and what do you do?
- If you had
been Peter and knew you had blown it by recently denying Jesus, how would
you feel when he appeared?
- What would
you have felt after Jesus asked you three times if you loved him?
- How does the
Gospel give you hope for a restored relationship with a family member or
friend who has let you down?
How hard is it for you to forgive those who have hurt you?
- What is the
closest you have come to “throwing in the towel” and going back on your
promise to follow Jesus?
- After the
resurrection, people recognize Jesus in the breaking of the bread. What does that say about our
celebration of the Eucharist?
